Fuzzy Clowns

So... long time, no blog, eh?

Anyway, life's been a bit crazy. I start my new job on Wednesday, so I've been frantically tying up loose ends at my current job. On top of that, my sister's wedding was last Saturday and my 10 year high school reunion is this coming Saturday. Moral of the story... life never stops happening.

Now, on to the stranger things that have been happening.

A few weeks ago I went to the liquor store. I was holding the door open for a number of people making their way out. I was getting a little impatient when, finally, the last person in line came into view. And you'd never guess who/what it was... a clown! A clown in full gear and make-up holding a six-pack of beer, smiling from ear to ear. I kick myself for not getting a picture. It was classic!

More recently... I have a good friend in town from LA. She came for my sister's wedding and our high school reunion. We're both of the same mind set - that we want to get in shape and eat healthy, but it's so hard when there's no motivation. So we've decided to take a few baby steps while she's here. This past weekend we decided that we should drink more water, but, again, we needed a little bit of kick in the butt. After an ass-kicking hike along the Mt. Aire trail up Millcreek Canyon we treated ourselves to new water bottles (pictures to come as soon as I find the cable for my camera). The motivation that came from my new water bottle is working like a charm. I have not had a Diet Coke since Monday!

Yesterday my friend and I went to a Cardio Jam class at my gym. I'd never been to one before but am game for anything that combines cardio and jamming. Holy shit did that class work us over! The little blond instructor made all the bouncing, kicking, and running look effortless as she shouted out the instructions. I kept thinking to myself, "She's got to slow it down at some point - at least stop for a water break," but she kept on going. The only thing that marked the warm-up and cool-down was a slight change in tempo from being-chased-by-a-bear speed to merely being-chased-by-the-fuzz speed. We could barely keep up. Even walking afterwards proved to be difficult. I'll definitely try it again. :)

So, the dreaded high school reunion is coming up, and I'm bound to have more to say after. So, until then, bon voyage!
